Cervical plexus block - safe anesthesia for the patients with massive mediastinal lymphadenopathy

Introduction. General anesthesia is frequently employed in neck surgery procedures. However, patients at high risk for general anesthesia, regional options, such as the superficial cervical plexus block, warrant careful consideration. Patients with mediastinal lymph node enlargement face an elevated of airway obstruction and hemodynamic instability during induction. In selected surgeries, including thyroglossal cyst excision, fistula repair, bronchial removal, thyroidectomy, block presents a viable secure alternative to anesthesia. Case report. This report details case patient lymphadenopathy multiple brain metastases who underwent excision. Given patient?s severe comorbidities, pronounced complete distal obstruction, instability, potential compression effects from mass, was administered. facilitated effective perioperative analgesia without inducing respiratory or cardiovascular instability.
